A Bible Church in the Anglican Tradition

Who We Are

St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church serves Kerrville, Texas and the surrounding communities of the beautiful Texas Hill Country.

We are a member of The Anglican Diocese of the Living Word, led by The Rt. Rev. Julian Dobbs, and Assisting Bishop The Rt. Rev. William Love.

The ADLW is a part of ACNA (The Anglican Church in North America.)

It is our desire to assist seekers to come to know and develop a deeper relationship with God.

Offering a traditional service, we appeal to our parishioner’s sense of long-standing values as described in Holy Scripture.  As a stable rock, this church remains firmly rooted in the values that have served the Anglican faith so well. We emphasize an Anglo-Catholic style of liturgy, purposeful messages and the great hymns of the Church, along with Holy Scripture and powerful prayer.

As a Christian community, we enjoy worshiping together and enjoy a potluck lunch after our service on the fourth Sunday of every month.

We are especially pleased when people traveling through Kerrville join us and we welcome you. Please join us as we praise God and share in the Body and Blood of our Lord each Sunday.

In September 1994 a group of like-minded brothers and sisters came together to create a local Anglican Church. At the gathering of those men and women St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church was born.

For many years the parish met in a building belonging to another church.  There, utilizing the 1928 Book of Common Prayer , the parishioners worshipped God and grew  as a church family.  For nearly fourteen years they waited for God to provide a permanent home. In February of 2008 their prayers were answered.

The group was able to purchase a building and work began to transform a one-time day care center into a church home. They held their first  services there on Palm Sunday of that same year.

St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church remains a  traditional Anglican parish. Under the spiritual leadership of Father John Onstott, the church family continues to worship God and grow in Christian love.

The Place of Worship

As you enter, you will notice an atmosphere of worship and reverence. Anglican churches are built in many architectural styles; but whether the church be small or large, elaborate or plain, your eye is carried to the altar, or holy table, and to the cross. So our thoughts are taken at once to Christ and to God whose house the church is.  On or near the altar there are candles to remind us that Christ is the “Light of the world” (John 8:12). Often there are flowers, to beautify God’s house and to recall the resurrection of Jesus.  On one side at the front of the church, there may be a lectern-pulpit, or stand, for the proclamation of the Word; here the Scriptures are read and the sermon is preached. In many churches, however, the lectern is separate from the pulpit and stands on the opposite side of the church.
